Curious?Interested in astronomy?
Together, let's discover the majestic wonders of the universe and beyond
ADVOCACY Skyxplore started its humble beginnings when former Sen. Anna Dominique “Nikki” Coseteng decided to put up the Discover and Probe the Skies Foundation last May 2010. This foundation caters to the Astronomy Outreach Program which aims to bring astronomy awareness among Filipino students. It gives them the opportunity to go beyond what’s taught and to learn from what’s possible using their creativity and imagination, thereby widening their experience beyond the confines of the classroom and textbook education.
The program features the country’s first two digital mobile planetariums which provides a realistic simulated display of the day and night-time sky and celestial objects, photo exhibits of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), film showing about telescopes and outer space missions and authentic meteorite collections.
PEOPLE BEHIND THE PROJECT The project is headed by Mr. Edmund Rosales as a professional lecturer in the field of astronomy along with 5 junior astronomers namely Leogiver Manosca, Maniline Robelas, Erika Christine Rosales, Carlo Andrew Ferrer, and Regyn Avena. At present, the program has benefited over 20 schools nationwide.
